Parent Letter March 1, 2009 Hello Families, Hope you are enjoying the windy weather! I have a couple of announcements and reminders for this week. • Wednesday Evening-6:30- 7:30 is a Family Night… A number of you, about 10 have rsvp’d … please let me know if you are coming and if you can bring a snack. • Over the next 2 weeks, students are going to be working on learning folk stories and presenting them to our class. They will also present them to the Kinders and first graders. The goal is for them to be confident in front of a group, speaking clearly and confidently. I’ve attached the expectations. Students have been reading stories and will now begin learning the one of their choosing. Be sure to have them read aloud one story on Monday and Tuesday nights. • I really appreciate families that have been able to encourage their child’s learning of multiplication and division facts. Here is a site to have them practice. It really is a daily practice… http://www.funbrain.com/math/index.html • Empty Bowls Project… our class with the Kinders, will be making projects for the empty bowls… I am suggesting for our class to make face cups… If you can help this Tuesday and Thursday in the afternoon, please let me know. I think we will work with the Kinders on Friday, Am. Thanks for all you do to support your children in the Life School. Peace and Light, Mark |
